When you are contacted by the Pre-op Nurse from the Surgery Center she will instruct you on which daily medications should be taken the day of surgery.
Do not eat or drink anything after midnight the night before your surgery unless your doctor or anesthesiologist instructs otherwise. This includes food, liquids, water, candy, gum and chewing tobacco.
Do not smoke after midnight the night before surgery.
If you take blood thinners, or if you take aspirin or ibuprofen daily or frequently, please tell the surgeon.
Do not plan drive yourself home following surgery. You should arrange for a caregiver (responsible adult over the age of 18) to drive you home and stay with you for the first 24 hours as you recover from anesthesia and your procedure.
